David Fruman's Anti-Cancer Challenge Page
All of us have lost family members and friends to cancer. That is why I go to my office each day driven by the goal of extending and improving the lives of cancer patients. I do this through my research lab, by teaching cancer biology classes, and by mentoring the next generation of cancer researchers. UC Irvine is an exceptional environment to search for cancer cures due to our world class faculty, students and staff. However, we need your help to launch new research initiatives that will attack the cancer problem from new perspectives.
I joined the Anti-Cancer Challenge because I believe together we can create a cancer free world for our family, friends and neighbors. Cancer can be over 100 different diseases, and we ride to find cures for cancer in all its forms. 100% of every dollar raised will go directly to lifesaving cancer research at the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. In fact, for each of the past two years my laboratory received vital seed grants from Anti-Cancer Challenge funds. These grants have allowed us to continue our blood cancer research and obtain larger awards from the American Society of Hematology and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Many colleagues at UCI have achieved similar success from their seed grants.
You can join me in the Anti-Cancer movement. I will be participating in the bike ride. Please make a donation to help me meet my fundraising goal. Learn more at Anti-CancerChallenge.org.
