Join us for a 5K run/walk to put cancer behind us on Saturday, May 19 at the Orange County Great Park. Click here to view the 5K Route. Participants can select to be timed during registration. Participants not interested in beating the clock are welcome to go at their own pace. 5K participants 3 years of age or older must be registered. Children under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult participant.
Time results and photos will be posted on the website after the run. Remember your bib number to look up your results. We recommend taking a picture of your bib with your cell phone after the race.
If this is your first 5K, check out our FAQ section.
Check out your 5K perks:
5K Runners have a fundraising commitment of $50, which is made as a self-donation at the time of registration. We hope to raise as much money as possible for cancer research, so don’t be afraid to increase your goal.
We encourage all our runners to fundraise $50-we all have five friends who can donate $10. If all runners commit to fundraising, we can greatly increase our impact on cancer. 5K Race participants have access to fundraising materials and the Participant Center to raise funds for cancer research.
Keep in mind runners line up according to how they think they will finish-fast runners in the front, slow runners in the back, walkers behind runners. This prevents congestion on the course. You want to be amongst the participants who will be running-or walking-the same pace as you. You don’t want to be passed by a crowd of people, and you don’t want to be dodging and weaving around people slower than you. Here is a quick guide to help you line up:
- 9 min. or less/mile: Head straight to the front of the line; you are fast.
- 9-10 min. mile: Quick runners line up just behind the fast runners in the front.
- 10-12 min. mile: You are a jogger; head to the middle of the line.
- Run/walk mix: If you plan to mix jogging and walking, head back behind the joggers in the middle of the line.
- Walkers/strollers: Stay to the back of the line and take your time.
If you choose to run with a baby jogger or stroller, you must line up in the back of all runners. It is your responsibility to make sure the jogger or stroller does not impede other runners. You must take extra precaution for your safety, your child’s safety, and the safety of other runners around you. We reserve the right to pull any person from the race who is endangering other runners or themselves.
Dogs may participate in the Anti-Cancer Challenge, but they must remain on a 6-foot leash at all times. Dog owners must be alert at all times and be prepared to take care of their dog onsite, including providing water, cleaning up after their pet, and monitoring others safety on the course. Dog owners who plan to participate in the 5K run/walk must stay at the back of the line to avoid congestion on the course. Dogs may not impede other runners. We reserve the right to pull any person from the run/walk who is endangering other runners or themselves.
