Matching gifts are an easy way to raise money. Most companies match their employees dollar for dollar, but some companies will double the contribution. Apply for matching gifts early, so you have the best chance of receiving the donation before the fundraising deadline. The Anti-Cancer Challenge has no control over the timing or distribution of your matching gift.
Encourage your donors to follow these easy steps to set up a Matching Gift:
- Find out if your employer already has a Matching Gift policy by using the search function below.
- If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer. Your donor will complete the form.
- If your employer does not have a matching gift policy set up, contact the Human Resources department to find out if the company matches charitable donations.
Understand the fine print.
Matching gifts may be paid on an annual, semi-annual or monthly basis. Matching gifts will be counted towards your fundraising commitment when a copy of the completed matching gift form is received by the Anti-Cancer Challenge office.
Understand what the company needs from you to issue the matching gift donation check. Generally your donor will fill out an application to the company. Understand the process so you are ready to roll in the gifts!
